The full list of Browns players added to the COVID-19 list on Wednesday includes:

  • CB Troy Hill
  • S John Johnson III
  • QB Baker Mayfield
  • DT Malik McDowell
  • DE Ifeadi Odenigbo
  • S Nate Meadors (practice squad)

With Wednesday's additions, Cleveland's COVID-19 list now includes 17 players. On Tuesday, the Browns placed wide receiver Jarvis Landry, tight end Austin Hooper, offensive tackle Jedrick Wills Jr., offensive guard Wyatt Teller, defensive end Takkarist McKinley, guard Drew Forbes, kick returner JoJo Natson and tight end Ross Travis on the COVID-19 list. Currently, linebacker Anthony Walker Jr., tight end David Njoku and punter Jamie Gillan remain on the reserve/COVID-19 list after missing Cleveland's 24-22 victory over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.

Per NFL rules, a vaccinated player can return from the COVID-19 list after returning two negative tests 24 hours apart. Meanwhile, an unvaccinated player is required to remain on the COVID-19 list for at least 10 days after returning a positive test.

Additionally, the Browns announced on Wednesday that head coach Kevin Stefanski had tested positive for COVID-19. Stefanski, who has received the COVID-19 vaccine and a booster shot, would be eligible to return to coach the team against the Las Vegas Raiders on Saturday if he's able to return two negative COVID-19 tests 24 hours apart.

Should Stefanski be unable to coach against the Raiders, special teams coordinator Mike Priefer will serve as the team's acting head coach with offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt calling the team's offensive plays. Acting running backs coach Ryan Cordell has also tested positive for COVID-19, per the team.
