Watch: Jarvis Landry rushing touchdown gives Browns 7-0 lead vs. Lions

Jarvis Landry's 16-yard rushing touchdown gave the Cleveland Browns a 7-0 lead vs. the Detroit Lions on Sunday.

CLEVELAND — Earlier this week, Jarvis Landry told reporters that he wasn't sure why he hasn't been more involved in the Cleveland Browns offense.

Facing the Detroit Lions on Sunday, Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski made sure his top receiver got some touches.

After Cleveland's offense drove the ball down to the Lions' 16-yard line, the Browns lined Landry up behind center in a 'Wildcat' formation. While the five-time Pro Bowl wide receiver initially looked to throw the ball to quarterback Baker Mayfield, who had lined up next to him the backfield, he ultimately opted to run it, weaving his way through Detroit's defense for a 16-yeard touchdown.

Landry's rushing touchdown marked his second of the season and came after a drive in which Mayfield overthrew him on a play that resulted in an interception. While the turnover allowed the Lions to advance the ball to Cleveland's 23-yard line, the Browns were ultimately able to get the ball back without giving up any points as linebacker Malcolm Smith intercepted Detroit quarterback Tim Boyle on a 3rd and 12.

From there, Mayfield helped engineer an eight-play, 84-yard touchdown drive, which included completions of 26 yards to David Njoku and 20 yards to Austin Hooper. Between the rainy elements and the Lions' impotent offense, Landry's touchdown score could prove pivotal as the Browns look to bounce back from last week's blowout loss to the New England Patriots.
