BEREA -- The Browns were movers and traders in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

When the Browns finally did go on the clock, they went back to the bloodlines of their new, defensively minded head coach, Mike Pettine, and selected Oklahoma State cornerback Justin Gilbert with the 8th overall pick.

The Browns traded the 4th pick to Buffalo and moved down to the 9th spot before swapping a fifth round pick with Minnesota to move up to grab Gilbert.

The Browns clearly believe Gilbert is the best cornerback in the draft to maneuver so to get him. His addition will help bookend Joe Haden.
