Social media reaction: Cleveland Browns fans angry, but still hopeful following loss to New York Jets

Cleveland can still get into the playoffs with a win over the Steelers next week.

CLEVELAND — It was not a happy afternoon in Cleveland, as the Browns lost to the one-win Jets 23-16.

Had the Browns pulled out the victory, they would've clinched their first playoff berth since 2002. Instead, they struggled to get anything going on offense, with most of their receivers and some key linemen out due to either injuries of COVID-19 protocols.

Needless to say, the fans are not happy, and made that known on social media after the final whistle. Much of the scorn was directed at Baker Mayfield and his three fumbles, while others blamed the NFL for not pushing the game back in the first place.

Still, there is hope: Although today's loss was a stunner, all the Browns have to do is beat the Pittsburgh Steelers next Sunday to head to the postseason. Many emphasized the need to focus on what comes next, although understandably, there is some pessimism in the ranks.
