The Cleveland Browns forced a turnover, and three plays later, converted it into a 10-0 lead over the Detroit Lions with 8:39 to play in the first quarter at Ford Field.
Middle linebacker Jamie Collins caught an interception from Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford on a pass intended for wide receiver Golden Tate. After corralling the interception, Collins was tackled at the Detroit 31-yard line, and suffered a right knee injury that forced him to the locker room.
On the first play of the ensuing drive, Browns running back Duke Johnson scampered for a nine-yard gain after catching a pass from rookie quarterback DeShone Kizer. Then, after Johnson converted a first-down run with a three-yard gain, Kizer slipped a pass to wide receiver Kenny Britt on the left side of the field.
After securing the catch, Britt stepped his way out of a tackle attempt, and then, sprinted toward the end zone.
