On her way towinning the gold medal in the halfpipe at the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang on Monday night, Chloe Kim had one thing on her mind: Food.

As she attempted to kill time between her first and second gold medal runs, the 17-year-old U.S. Olympian opted to talk to her friends on the phone rather than finish her breakfast sandwich. Kim ultimately came to regret her decision, however, taking to Twitter to let her followers know that she was "getting hangry."

Kim -- who has fancied herself as a food fanatic on social media -- ultimately made up for her decision during a Tuesday morning appearance on NBC's 'TODAY.' As she explained her now-viral tweets, TODAY anchors Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb and Al Roker gifted the gold medal-winner with a plate of breakfast sandwiches -- as well as two of her personal favorites -- churros and ice cream.

Overwhelmed by the offerings, Kim opted to eat both a breakfast sandwich, churro dipped in chocolate and ice cream -- at the same time.

"My hands are full," Kim shouted, before adding "Don't mix chocolate, churros and a sandwich. It just doesn't really work, but I'm glad I tried it."

Thanks in large part to her tweets -- and of course, success on the halfpipe -- Kim has become one of the 2018 Winter Olympics' breakout stars. And as for the naysayers who were skeptical about her use of social media in the middle of a competition, the fairly blunt Kim had a message for them too:

"Like, what else are you supposed to do?" she responded, per ESPN's T.J. Quinn.
