PHILADELPHIA - One of the snowiest winters on record in the northeastern United States had officially been over for a few days now -- but that isn't keeping another snowstorm from making its way up the East Coast.

The storm today has been dropping flurries on Washington and Philadelphia on its way to Cape Cod, which could see 8 to 10 inches of snow.

The Mid-Atlantic region and New England are also expected to see high winds and temperatures 20 to 25 degrees below normal.

The 1 1/2 inches of snow that fell by this afternoon at Dulles International Airport near Washington raised the total for the season to 50.5 inches. A meteorologist says this is now unofficially the third snowiest winter in the Washington area since record-keeping began in 1962.
