A cold front pushing into the northeastern U.S. tomorrow will provide some relief from the recent record-breaking heat, though temperatures will remain above average in most places.

Increased cloudiness will move in as a result, though only spotty showers and a few rumbles of thunder are expected from New England to the Tennessee Valley. Along the tail end of the cold front, potentially severe storms will spark in southern and eastern Texas.

The Southeast and Plains can expect a dry and warmer Wednesday. A system moving through the interior Northwest will usher cooler air into the Western states along with some coastal rain in Northern California and Oregon.
