A strong push of warm air will be accompanied by showers and thunderstorms across the Northeast tomorrow.

A persistent flow of air off the Atlantic will trigger rip currents and spotty showers along the east coast of Florida. Elsewhere across the South, spotty thunderstorms could ignite over the lower Mississippi Valley and Texas.

Rain and thunderstorms will soak the North Central states to start the weekend. Some of the thunderstorms could turn locally severe with damaging winds and hail from Kansas to Wisconsin.

Wet weather will retreat toward the Canadian border across the Northwest. Areas from Oregon and California to Wyoming, Colorado and New Mexico can expect a dry and sunny day. Heat will continue in the Desert Southwest.
