Weather across the nation on April 18, 2018

Winterlike weather will return to the Northeast tomorrow, with cold, blustery winds and rounds of traffic-halting snow showers.

Across New England, snow will mix with sleet and rain. Cool and windy conditions are expected to penetrate the southeastern United States, though they will be accompanied by an increasing amount of sunshine.

An area of high pressure will dominate the weather in the Plains, allowing some sun and warmth to build back into the snow- and wind-battered region.

Strong winds will pick back up across the High Plains from Wyoming to Texas and through Southern California, again heightening the threat of rapidly spreading wildfires.

Cool, windy and damp weather is expected to continue in areas to the west of the Rockies.
