Heat and humidity more typical of July will continue to bake the East tomorrow. Long-standing record highs will be challenged in the mid-Atlantic.

Spotty showers and thunderstorms can erupt amidst the heat over the southern Appalachians, Deep South and South Florida. As a storm lifts into southeastern Ontario, showers and thunderstorms will press eastward across the Great Lakes and Ohio Valley.

Meanwhile, a new storm will emerge over the southern Plains. Severe thunderstorms capable of causing further wind, hail and tornado damage can erupt from Kansas to Texas. Flash flooding can also occur. A soaking rain and heavy mountain snow will fall across the interior West.
