While New Englanders can expect to be greeted by a warmer and sunnier day tomorrow, the rest of the Eastern Seaboard will be wet and windy.

A system approaching the area will result in waves of rain impacting areas from the Midwest through the mid-Atlantic and to the Gulf Coast. Across parts of the Southeast, severe afternoon storms are expected to spark as well.

After a soaking weekend in the Midwest, the return of heavy rain could prompt additional flooding. High pressure centered over the Rockies will promote calm, dry and increasingly warmer weather from the Plains to the West Coast.

West of Kansas City, the only precipitation to be found will be over the ridges of the Cascades and Sierras. Sun and a light southeasterly flow will bake the Southwest.
