A large area of clouds and chilly air will continue to swirl over New England tomorrow.

Summerlike heat is again in store for the South, while showers and thunderstorms dampen the mid-Mississippi Valley to the central Appalachians. Another round of heavy, flooding rainfall will soak the central United States.

Ongoing flooding issues on the Mississippi River will only be exacerbated by the additional rainfall and keep rivers running well above flood stage.

A storm system moving into the southern Plains will spark severe thunderstorms from central Kansas to south-central Texas during the afternoon.

Damaging wind gusts, large hail and a few tornadoes are the primary threats. Unseasonable warmth will briefly return to the Pacific Northwest, while damp, dreary conditions persist in the Four Corners region.
