The dress Marilyn Monroe wore when she sang Happy Birthday to President John F. Kennedy will be auctioned in November.
The shimmering, nude-colored dress was designed exclusively for Monroe at a cost of $12,000 in 1962.
The dress sold in 1999 for a little over $1.26 and now Julien's Auctions estimates the dress to be worth $2 million to $3 million.
The flesh-toned sheer dress is covered in over 2,500 rhinestones and legend has it that the dress was so tight-fitting that Monroe had to be sewn into it on the day of the birthday party.
Julien's Auctions is offering the dress, along with some of Monroe's other belongings, at an auction in Los Angeles Nov. 17.
President John F. Kennedy's 45th birthday celebration was one of Marilyn Monroe's final public appearances before her death in August of 1962.
