William M. Malley Sr., Chairman Emeritus of Malley's Chocolates, dies at 85

William M. Malley Sr., the Chairman Emeritus of Malley's Chocolates, passed away Wednesday at the age of 85.

Under his leadership, Malley's Chocolates became a Cleveland institution.  

Malley's father Mike began the company with their first store in 1935. There are now 22 stores across the area.

William Malley joined his family's business in 1956 and would eventually become the chairman.  He retired in 1997.

Mr. Malley is survived by his wife Adele, their six children, 12 grandchildren, and a host of other family members. 

Calling hours will be on Friday, October 21, at the Chambers Funeral Home in North Olmsted from 4-8 p.m. The funeral will be held Saturday, October 22, at St. Angela Merci Church in Fairview Park at 10 a.m. 

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Ignatius High School, Lifebanc, Boys and Girls Club of Cleveland,or St. Augustine Hunger Center.
