Small Business Saturday welcomes shoppers in Northeast Ohio

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS - We've been through Thanksgiving and Black Friday. Now, it's time for Small Business Saturday.

The annual shopping event, started by American Express in 2010, is always the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The goal is to celebrate locally-owned small businesses and to help support local entrepreneurs.

Each year, the movement gains momentum, fueled in large part by millennial shoppers who place a high value on independent businesses.

Today, many shop in University Circle, like Coquette Patisserie, Ampersand Cleveland and Still Point Gallery all offered deals that customers couldn't resist.
