Hungry Bee's Honey Mustard Short Ribs
Serves 4
3 to 4 lbs. bone-in beef short ribs
salt and pepper to taste
1 c. hickory smoked barbecue sauce
3 T. McCune Family Apiary local honey
1 Btl. ReHive Ale
1 T. Dijon mustard
½ Spanish onion, sliced
3 cloves garlic, shaved
2 T. cornstarch
2 T. cold water
Sprinkle ribs with salt and pepper; place in a slow cooker with sliced onions & garlic, set aside. Combine barbecue sauce, honey, mustard, and additional salt and pepper, if desired; pour over ribs with bottle of ReHive Ale. Cover and cook on low setting for 7 hours. During the last 30 minutes of cooking, whisk cornstarch into water; add to slow cooker, stirring until thickened.
