CLEVELAND -- Cleveland's east side just got a little healthier. Local dignitaries cut the ribbon today, officially opening CornUcopia Place and the Bridgeport Café.
The restaurant offers healthy choices to residents in the Kinsman neighborhood which, until now, was labelled a food desert.
The café and community center not only offer great, healthy food choices, you can even sign up for cooking classes with a real chef.
Chef Eric Wells grew up in the Kinsman neighborhood and can't wait to start giving back to the community.
He said that what they wanted to do is to introduce fresh food, healthy eating options, and just options for our residents to try and learn to cook and eat better.
The café serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, all healthy, of course.
Shoppers can also pick up fresh fruits and vegetables, many of which are grown locally.
