MEDINA -- The Medina City Prosecutor's office has authorized two criminal charges against Harry G. Magocky, 59, of Parma, as a result of a shooting that occurred Jan. 19 at the gun show at the Medina County Community Center.
Charges of discharging a firearm within the city limits and negligent assault -- both misdemeanors -- were filed in Medina Municipal Court.
Police accuse Magocky of negligently handling a 9mm semi-automatic handgun during the show when it discharged, striking Robert Rousseau, 63, of Lorain, in the arm and leg.
Rousseau was treated and released from the hospital as a result of the injury.
Magocky was served with the charges, processed and released on a summons to court.
A third degree misdemeanor is punishable by a maximum fine of $500 and sixty days in jail, while a fourth degree misdemeanor carries a possible fine of $250 and thirty days in jail.
