Something is making its way to the area and we’re not talking about presidential campaign stops.
Retail shops are beginning to fill up their storefront windows with the latest Christmas decorations – and some stores have even launched their holiday playlists.
Donzell's Flower & Garden Center in Akron has transformed in Santa’s workshop where employees (or Santa’s little helpers) are using up every minute they have to get ready for holiday season. From lights and trees, to reindeer and hundreds of ornaments, crews are unpacking the final boxes for the start of holiday shopping this weekend.
At Summit Mall, Santa will be in town beginning November 11 with a new interactive set for kids, including a “Naughty or Nice” meter.
There’s chatter on social media on some local retail shops playing Christmas music, which brings many to the question on whether it’s too early get into the holiday spirit. In a recent WKYC Twitter poll, more than 60 percent of users said the day after Thanksgiving is a good time to put up decorations and play Christmas music. About 20 percent said December 1st and about 12 percent said anytime.
