They say all good things must come to an end.
While watching the Cleveland Browns between 2007-17 was generally not a 'good thing,' knowing that Joe Thomas was the rock of the offensive line was always comforting.
After 11 brilliant seasons, Thomas made the decision to retire on Tuesday. Even though we suspected this was coming, it's still emotional.
Jim Donovan opened Channel 3 News at 6 tonight with this fantastic look at Thomas' career and legacy:
If you haven't had a chance yet, I hope you'll take a few moments to read my piece about Thomas. In 11 years of dysfunctional Cleveland Browns football, he was the ONE functional thing we had going for us.
The two of us had a chance to huddle up later on Tuesday evening and talk more about Thomas' career, what the Browns do now that he's gone, plus a great story from Jimmy about the night before Joe was drafted in 2007.
