Cleveland Indians preview; Praise for Cleveland Browns GM John Dorsey: Donovan Live Postgame Show

Jim Donovan and Dave DeNatale get you ready for a new season of Tribe baseball and discuss how quickly the vibe in Berea has changed since John Dorsey became Browns GM.

It's one of the best times of the year to be a sports fan.

Thursday marks the start of Major League Baseball's regular season and I couldn't be more excited. I'm looking forward to seeing Terry Francona's Indians back on the field as they try to climb the mountain all the way to a World Series crown.

Can they do it? Of course. But I was curious to find out from Jim Donovan what his biggest concerns about this Tribe team are. We also spoke about some key players to watch this summer, including an Indians pitcher not named Kluber that I think will be a finalist for the Cy Young Award. (By the by, I think Cy Kluber will be in the mix for number three, too)

Jimmy also thinks that the Indians are one of four 'superpower' teams in the American League along with the defending world champion Astros, the Yankees, and Red Sox. If those are the four teams left standing in the playoffs, count me in!

While talking about how Tribe players like Francisco Lindor and Jose Ramirez have become fan favorites, Jimmy brought up how Browns GM John Dorsey has quickly evolved into a local hero.

Look, it's early. We haven't seen this front office group manage a draft yet. But you can't help but be impressed by the way Dorsey and his personnel team have operated through free agency and trades. They've made some shrewd moves and have changed the vibe in the building out in Berea. They are being clear and straight forward with the young men vying to be the team's franchise quarterback (we discussed 'the plan' on our previous show), while treating Cody Kessler with class and sending him to Jacksonville where he can learn under Blake Bortles.

Things like that didn't always happen in past situations as Jimmy reminded us.

Finally, I have to give Mr. Donovan the Carnac the Magnificent Award (Google it if you are too young) for his Dynamite Drop-In at the end of the show: "The way the Cavaliers are going, LeBron James needs to score at least 30 points for them to win."

He tallied 41 in the 118-105 victory over Charlotte, tying Michael Jordan for the most consecutive games with at least 10 points at No. 866 in a row. Brilliant, James.
