What national experts are forecasting for Cleveland Browns in NFL Draft: Donovan Live Postgame Show

Jim Donovan and Dave DeNatale look back on the summer of 1994 when Billy Graham came to Cleveland and what NFL experts are forecasting for the Browns in the upcoming draft.

Before we get to the mock draft reviews, I was fascinated by Brandon Simmons' piece on the life of the late Reverend Billy Graham, who passed away at the age of 99.

I had forgotten that Graham came to Cleveland in 1994, filling venerable Municipal Stadium with more than 80,000 of his enthusiastic followers. One of them was then-Cavaliers guard Mark Price.

The summer of 1994 was a unique time in the history of Cleveland sports. The Indians were in a brand-new ballpark and winning, Price and the Cavs were preparing to move into a new arena, and Art Modell was in a bit of a crisis. The Browns owner/Cleveland Stadium landlord no longer had a tenant supplying revenue for 81 games a season. He booked concert after concert, including the Eagles and Pink Floyd, that summer, plus the Graham Crusade, and StadiumFest, a weekend amusement park (remember that?).

As history shows, the money lost from the Indians' departure was a prime reason why Modell opted to move the Browns to Baltimore. Jim Donovan and I looked back at that summer during Wednesday's Donovan Live Postgame Show.

Now to the mocks!

ESPN's Mel Kiper, Jr. is projecting the Browns to take Wyoming QB Josh Allen with the first overall pick, with Alabama DB Minkah Fitzpatrick coming to Cleveland with the #4 pick. Jimmy explains why Kiper may be so bullish on the Browns and Allen, when most experts are forecasting others for the top pick.

Also, the NFL Network's Mike Mayock appeared on 92.3 The Fan's Bull and Fox and stated that there's no QB in 2018 NFL Draft class that is in same category as Philadelphia's Carson Wentz.

There are things about each of the top quarterbacks that Mayock has real concerns about. Are they things that Jimmy has concerns about?

Finally, former NFL QB David Carr, now with the NFL Network, believes the Browns should bypass a QB with the first overall pick and take Penn St. running back Saquon Barkley.

There's a lot on the plate for Jimmy and I to discuss.
