Wrapping up Super Bowl LII; reaction to Josh McDaniels staying in N.E.: Donovan Live Postgame Show

Jim Donovan gives his final thoughts on Super Bowl LII with Dave DeNatale, plus reaction to Josh McDaniels' decision to stay with the Patriots, and the continuing Cavs soap opera.

After having a day or so to digest what we saw on Super Bowl Sunday in Minnesota, it was good to get back together with Jim Donovan for Tuesday's Donovan Live Postgame Show.

As I wrote last night, there were a couple of lessons that the Browns could take from Philadelphia as GM John Dorsey goes through the process of rebuilding the 0-16 team he inherits.

Of course, it starts with the quarterback. Finding the guy, developing him, nurturing him, and giving him the best chance to succeed. The Eagles did that with both Carson Wentz and Nick Foles, and the reward was the franchise's first world championship since 1960.

On the flip side, during the show we got word that New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels decided NOT to take the head coaching job in Indianapolis. This is a stunning development, and it causes you to ask if Bill Belichick's days are numbered in Foxborough, or if McDaniels had serious reservations about the health of Andrew Luck. Jimmy and I discussed this story.

Finally, what is to be done about the Cleveland Cavaliers? Tuesday's disastrous loss to the Magic makes 14 defeats in the last 21 games for the Wine and Gold. Tension and turmoil are at volcanic levels between players, coaches, front office personnel, and the owner. Speaking of Dan Gilbert, I wrote him a note in a column I posted following the Orlando game. These next couple of days are incredibly important for his franchise for this season and beyond. Jimmy and I discuss if there's any way out of this misery for the Cavs.
