AVON, Ohio -- The year was 1948. The Indians won the World Series and Wally Hagen met his everlasting love, MJ.
Wally recalls one of their first dates was to the school library. Wally says after three years of school, he didn't even know where the library was. But they had their date and this love story began to grow.
They were engaged in 1949 and married in 1950.
Wally says when they got married, MJ had $8,000 and he was $4,000 in the hole.
Now 70 years later, they have two sons and a handful of grandchildren. They credit their long life together to being sweet, nice and honest.
And they say "I love you" every morning and night.
