U.S. Marshals capture missing 14-year-old girl and wanted fugitive cousin

Annalys Clay had been missing since Dec. 3 and was traveling with her cousin, 33-year-old Louis Jakab, who was wanted for parole violation.

U.S. Marshals have tracked down a missing 14-year-old and her cousin on Thursday evening.

Annalys Clay had been missing since Dec. 3 and was traveling with her cousin, 33-year-old Louis Jakab, who was previously convicted of manslaughter and is wanted for violating his parole. Jakab is also suspected of impregnating the teen after the two had a sexual relationship in October.

Clay and Jakab were captured on Grayton Road just off of I-480. U.S. Marshal Pete Eilliott held a briefing for the media that you can see below:

"He (Jakab) literally came back to Northeast Ohio, to my shock and surprise," said Elliot. "We tracked him from Virginia to Pennsylvania, one step behind. He took a 14-year-old girl who he impregnated and was related to."

Elliott says the pair were spotted Thursday at the Denny's restaurant on W. 150th near I-71. Authorities from several departments chased Jakab until he crashed into another car and attempted to flee on foot.

Jakab was taken into custody while Clay was transported to Fairview Hospital.

WKYC Channel 3's Chris Tye was at the scene of the capture and filed this report on Facebook Live:

Police did not declare an Amber Alert in the search for Clay, but they had believed she could be in danger and that she is also in need of her medication.

Annalys's mother, Helenea Clay, was arrested earlier this month for filing a false police report. Helenea originally told police Annalys assaulted her while she was driving her car on Norwood St. in Barberton before leaving the vehicle and entering another with her cousin Louis Jakab.
