It’s not just because our very own Hollie Strano is a proud graduate, but because all week long we are honoring the Blue Streaks.

The private university has about 3,000 undergraduates studying on their University Heights campus.

Here are some fun facts about the school you may not know.

  • Approximately 500 companies and organizations in Northeast Ohio are owned or operated by John Carroll alumni, offering a wealth of opportunities for networking, internships, and job opportunities.
  • John Carroll University partners with NBC for the “NBC/JCU Meet the Press” Fellowship, created in 2009 in memory of the program's legendary host, Tim Russert, a 1972 John Carroll graduate. It is awarded annually to a John Carroll graduating senior who plans to pursue a career in political journalism. The Fellowship is a nine-month position at NBC’s “Meet the Press,” based in Washington, D.C.
  • John Carroll University is considered an NFL pipeline, producing multiple coaches, scouts, and front office executives who, collectively, have earned more than 23 Super Bowl rings. Don Shula, the NFL's winningest coach is a JCU grad. New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels is a John Carroll grad, as is retired NFL star player London Fletcher.
  • John Carroll University's Boler School of Business ranked #1 nationally in preparing students for careers, according to Bloomberg Businessweek’s 2016 “Best Undergraduate Business Schools” Employer Survey (recruiters at 600 companies).
