Cuyahoga County power outage impacts flights at Cleveland Hopkins Airport

Check your flight status before leaving for the airport.

BEREA, Ohio -- A power outage overnight impacted some flights at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.

Shortly after 5 a.m., the airport tweeted that flights will be delayed/cancelled due to the power outage. At that time, there were nearly 2,000 customers without power in Cuyahoga County.

“Please contact your airline for more information,” they wrote.

The airport's Web site showed multiple flights delayed or cancelled as a result.

FirstEnergy's outage map showed nearly all power was restored in Cuyahoga County as of 6:15 a.m.

The airport posted an update shortly after 6:30 a.m. that declared power was back at the airport.

Berea, Brook Park and Middleburg Heights were the hardest-hit areas.
