Tristan Thompson expected to return for Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday night

Thompson hasn't played since Nov. 1 due to a calf injury.

CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland Cavaliers have yet to be at full strength this season, but they'll soon be taking another step closer. According to head coach Tyronn Lue, barring any setbacks, Tristan Thompson will make his return to the Cleveland rotation when the team hosts the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night.

Thompson hasn't played since the Cavs' loss to the Indiana Pacers on Nov. 1, in which he limped off the court with an apparent leg injury. The sixth-year center was diagnosed with a left calf strain and given an estimated recovery timetable of 3-4 weeks.

In Thompson's absence, Cleveland amassed a 16-3 record, including a 13-game win streak. After being subbed in and out of the Cavs' starting lineup at the start of the season, the 6-foot-9 center is expected to resume a reserve role.

In eight games this season, Thompson has averaged 4.4 points and 6.4 rebounds in a career-low 21.6 minutes per game.

Also expected to return to the Cavs' lineup on Tuesday night is Kevin Love. Cleveland's starting center missed the team's victory over the Philadelphia 76ers with hip soreness.
