CLEVELAND -- According to ESPN Cleveland's Tony Rizzo, the Cleveland Browns have begun the process of overhauling their uniforms. Although the team won't be able to debut any new look until 2020 at the earliest, a re-design in the NFL is typically a two-year process.

It remains to be seen whether the Browns will opt for a new, more modern look or return to an older, more traditional one. In the meantime, let's take a look at the team's uniform history in the gallery above.

Initially debuting in 2015, the Browns' current look has been met with mixed reviews -- at best -- from the Cleveland fanbase. With three different jerseys, three different pants and three different colors of socks, the team initially touted its capability to wear a different combination of each on a weekly basis.

By 2017, however, the Browns had ditched wearing their orange uniforms together and consistently wore white jersey on top of white pants, be it at home or on the road. For the most part, fans have clamored for a return to a simpler design of uniforms, which the Browns had worn for the better part of their history.
