Todd Gurley says Saquon Barkley will be the No. 1 pick of 2018 NFL Draft

The Pro Bowl running back shares an agent with the Penn State prospect.

During the Los Angeles Lakers' victory over Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday night, Los Angeles Rams star running back Todd Gurley II may have broken some news regarding the Cleveland Browns and Saquon Barkley.

Welcome to 2018.

Gurley, who was seated courtside at the Staples Center with LeBron James' agent and Cleveland native, Rich Paul, posted a tweet implying that Barkley will be the No. 1 pick of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Gurley's tweet is particularly notable as he belongs to the same sports agency as Barkley, who many believe to be the best overall prospect in the upcoming draft.

The idea of the Browns selecting Barkley with the No. 1 pick has only gained momentum since his standout performance at the NFL Scouting Combine earlier this month. Betting site Bovada currently lists the Penn State product as the odds-on-favorite to be the draft's top pick, while Bleacher Report's Matt Miller forecasted Barkley to Cleveland at No. 1 in his most recent mock draft.

Of course, Gurley's tweet could be interpreted multiple ways and it's worth mentioning that the Pro Bowl running back never specified that it would be the Browns making the pick. Nevertheless, the timing of his tweet -- and the well-connected Cleveland agent he was sitting by when he posted it -- is worth mentioning, as you just never know where news is going to break in 2018.
