In the second-highest scoring Super Bowl ever, the Philadelphia Eagles upset the New England Patriots 41-33 to win their first NFL championship since 1960 (before the Super Bowl era).

Backup quarterback Nick Foles, who replaced an injured Carson Wentz in week 14, was named the game's MVP, throwing for 373 yards and 3 touchdowns. New England's Tom Brady did all he could in the losing effort, throwing for a Super Bowl record 505 yards and 3 touchdowns of his own. However, a late fumble did the Patriots in.

What follows is a live blog of the game's action, including commentary from various WKYC personalities.

10:18 p.m. - EAGLES WIN SUPER BOWL

Jake Elliot broke his own Super Bowl rookie record with a 46-yard field goal, putting the Eagles up 41-33 with 1:05 left.

Tom Brady will have one more chance to force overtime.

10:03 p.m. - BRADY TURNS IT OVER

Fumble! The Eagles force a fumble on their first sack of the game, and Derek Barnett recovers. Philly has the ball back with just over 2 minutes left up 5, and the Patriots need a stop.

10 p.m. - EAGLES BACK ON TOP LATE

Following a lengthy review, officials confirmed that Nick Foles' 11-yard touchdown pass to Zach Ertz was good after the latter dove into the endzone. The Eagles now lead 38-33 with 2:21 left, but Tom Brady will have one more shot.

9:35 p.m. - PATS TAKE FIRST LEAD OF GAME

Gronk. Smash. Rob Gronkowski hauls in his second touchdown of the night on a 4-yard pass from Tom Brady. The Patriots now lead 33-32 with 9:22 left, the first time they've led in this Super Bowl.

9:25 p.m. - LONGEST ROOKIE FIELD GOAL IN SUPER BOWL HISTORY

Philly's Jake Elliot has extended the lead once again with a 42-yard field goal. The longest by a rookie in Super Bowl history. The Eagles now lead the Patriots 32-26 with 14:09 left in the game.

9:21 p.m. - BRADY-TO-HOGAN CUTS LEAD TO THREE

8:40 p.m. - TIMBERLAKE ROCKS HALFTIME; TOUR OF WKYC'S NEW SET

Returning to the Super Bowl halftime show for the first time in 14 years, Justin Timberlake was phenomenal on the stage in Minneapolis. In addition, we gave you a tour of our new set at WKYC, and Dave "Dino" DeNatale sat down with Matt Florjancic and Cleveland.com's Dennis Manoloff to preview the second half.

8:05 p.m. - TRICK PLAY PUTS EAGLES UP 10 AT HALFTIME

Pure. Guts. Rather than kick a field goal on fourth and goal at the 1-yard line, Eagles coach Doug Pederson chose to go for the endzone. The result was a trick play pass from tight end Trey Burton to quarterback Nick Foles to give Philly a 22-12 lead at halftime.

Justin Timberlake's halftime performance is next, and WKYC's Dave "Dino" DeNatale will also go live from our "Big Game Party."

7:52 p.m. - WHITE GIVES PATS FIRST TD

The Patriots have finally found the endzone, thanks to an incredible run by James White, who bounced of numerous tackles on his way to a 24-yard touchdown. Unfortunately, Stephen Gostkowski hooked the extra point, keeping the score at 15-12 Eagles with roughly 2 minutes left in the half.

7:44 p.m. - FOLES PICK IS GAME'S FIRST TURNOVER

Nick Foles had the Eagles driving again, but a high, lofting pass near the endzone was deflected and intercepted by the Patriots' Duron Harmon. Philly still leads 15-6 with 5:01 left in the half.

7:37 p.m. - GOSTKOWSKI DRAWS PATS CLOSER

After missing a 26-yard field goal earlier in the game, Stephen Gostkowski made up for it with a 45-yarder with 7:24 left in the half. The Eagles still lead 15-6.

7:31 p.m. - BLOUNT RUNS ALL OVER FORMER TEAM

Last year he was celebrating a Super Bowl title with the Patriots, but this year LeGarrette Blount is trying to beat them. He did his part with a 21-yard touchdown run to make it 15-3 Eagles with 8:48 left in the first half.

7:20 p.m. - TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES

WKYC is aware that some viewers are experiencing technical difficulties while trying to watch the game. We are working to find a solution to the problem.

If the problem persists, please let us know.

7:15 p.m. - GOTKOWSKI FIELD GOAL SAILS WIDE

After a big hit by Philly's Rodney McLeod stopped the Patriots on third down, a 26-yard Stephen Gotskowski field goal attempt sailed wide. It's still 9-3 Eagles in the second quarter.

7:10 p.m. - FIRST TD PUTS EAGLES AHEAD AFTER ONE

The honor of first touchdown in this year's Super Bowl goes to Philly's Alshon Jeffrey, who caught a 34-yard strike from Nick Foles. However, Josh Elliot's extra point was no good, and Eagles' lead remains at 9-3 after the first quarter.

6:53 p.m.

The Patriots answer right back with a field goal of their own, a 26-yarder from Stephen Gostkowski. 3-3 with just over 4 minutes left in the first.

6:44 p.m.

The Eagles marched downfield for a seven-plus minute drive, but were kept out of the endzone. A 25-yard Jake Elliot field goal puts Philadelphia up 3-0 with 7:55 left in the first quarter.
