It was a heck of a Winter Olympics for Rocky River native Red Gerard, highlighted by a gold medal in men's slopestyle snowboarding.
While Gerard and his immediate family now live in Silverthorne, Colorado, many of his relatives still call Northeast Ohio home, and they and others packed Market on Linda St. to see the 17-year-old compete.
The family also appears to still be Cleveland sports fans, with Gerard's dad wearing a Browns stocking cap during the slopestyle final. Red himself was also pumped to receive a Twitter shout out from Bernie Kosar, and also posted an old photo of himself on Instagram wearing an Indians onesie.

Now, one of those teams appears be giving the Olympian an opportunity to return to his birthplace in grand style. According to WKYC's Chris Tye, the Indians have reached out to Red Gerard and asked him to throw out the first pitch at this year's home opener.
Nothing has been made official yet, and we're not even sure about Red's baseball skills. Still, it would be an amazing sight to see him take the mound, where he could expect a roaring welcome from the Progressive Field faithful.
The Tribe, which began Cactus League play Friday, is scheduled to play its first home game on Apr. 6 against the Kansas City Royals.
