  • NOVELTY, Ohio -- This park has been put smiles on many faces over its 79 year history. Wiegand's Lake Park, handed down through four generations, has been used for company picnics, reunions, parties, weddings, and almost any other event you can think of.

The land for the park was purchased during the depression era and has been in the family ever since.

Originally, people would work the land, which was once used as a way for people to pay off grocery store debts. Now, it's a place where people can wind down and get a little rest.

While workers fixed up the land, Wendy Wiegand would often prepare meals, such as sloppy joes, which kept the workers coming back whether there was work to be done or not.

Besides serving tasty food, the park offers visitors a lake with paddleboats, a baseball field, a playground area, horseshoe courts, a picnic area, and much more.

The Wiegand's have been making people smile for many years by giving them an area to relax and have some fun. That's what Works at Wiegand's Lake Park.

Make sure you keep Wiegand's Lake Park in mind the next time you're planning an event. Directions and more information can be found by visiting the Wiegand's Lake Park web site.
