Wall Street Wake Up

Last week Treasury Secretary Paulson asked for a 700 billion to buy bad loans and steady the economy.

WASHINGTON -- Those economic stimulus checks are showing up at the nation's retailers.

NEW YORK -- Wall Street has plunged, with the Dow Jones industrials closing down more than 400 points, after oil prices shot higher and neared $140 for the first time.

NEW YORK -- Oil prices have shot up more than $10 to a new record above $139 a barrel after a Morgan Stanley analyst predicted prices could hit $150 by the Fourth of July.

As gas prices remain steady at just above or just below $4 a gallon in the United States, oil dropped below $127 a barrel today.
