Hey it's Ali and Emily here, and we had a great day yesterday when we got to go to an interview at the Rock Hall and meet the legendary Darryl McDaniels, also known as DMC from Run DMC. DMC was here promoting education and discussed the history of the band. He also gave a presentation at the Rock Hall that night. Run DMC was inducted into the Hall of Fame earlier this year, and his interview was conducted in front of his exhibit. Included in the exhibit were his famous chain, glasses, and Adidas, along with Run DMC's Rolling Stone cover (the first ever cover featuring a rap/hip hop group).
DMC was very down to earth, friendly, and obviously passionate about his music and his involvement in philanthropic work. It was really exciting to meet someone who has contributed so much to the world, both in music and through his work for foster kids. Both Run and DMC will be back in three years to visit the Rock Hall.
You can see a photo of us with DMC and a short clip from his interview if you scroll down the page or watch the entire interview by clicking here. It was definitely a memorable experience!
