GATES MILLS -- From flooded basements to washed out roads, just about everyone felt the impact of last week's flooding. But something positive has come of it.

That's an improved Chagrin River Watershed.

It also allows the steelhead trout to spawn farther up the river.

Anglers say it expanded the steelhead fishery by eight and a half miles, four of which are accessible to the public.

The entire ecosystem will benefit, opening up migration for other native fish upstream and downstream to more easily navigate.

WKYC Photojournalist Carl Bachtel brings you the story.
