CLEVELAND - The grinning face of a former official sentenced to 22 years in prison is disappearing from gas pumps, supermarket scales and cash registers in Cleveland and the surrounding county.

Cuyahoga County on Tuesday began scraping off and replacing weights-and-measures stickers picturing former County Auditor Frank Russo.

He resigned and pleaded guilty last year to taking more than $1 million in bribes from various people.

The stickers are meant to let consumers know that the pumps and other devices have been tested for accuracy.

A spokeswoman for County Executive Ed FitzGerald tells multiple media outlets that the new decals won't have a picture, only FitzGerald's name and title.
