Streetsboro: Mayor swears in new police chief, lieutenant

STREETSBORO -- On Saturday, Mayor Arthur Scott had the pleasure of swearing in Roy E Mosley III as the new police chief for the Streetsboro Police Department. Mosley had been a lieutenant in the department.

At the same ceremony, Scott promoted Darin Powers to lieutenant.

Mosley has been serving as interim police chief since Police Chief Richard A. Taiclet retired Dec. 31

Mosley, 42, started with the Lawrence Township and the Franklin Township police departments. He joined the Streetsboro Police Department in 1993 as a patrol officer, was promoted to sergeant in 1995 promoted to lieutenant in 2005.

He has a bachelor's degree in political science/criminal justice from the University of Akron and lives in Brimfield.

Powers, 41, started as a patrolman in Sheffield Lake, then went to the North Olmsted police department. He came to Streetsboro as a patrolman in 1998 and was promoted to sergeant in 2001.

He has a bachelor's degree in electronics technology from the University of Akron and also lives in Brimfield.
