NOVELTY -- The Wiegand Family doesn't know what a typical summer is like.
That's because for 79 years, the family-run business has been providing a place where summer memories are made.
From paddle boats, baseball and swimming, to made-from-scratch-food, cornhole, to corn on the cob, the park offers some kind of summer fun for everyone on 105 peaceful acres of land.
The Wiegand's Lake Park hosts private functions, like company picnics, meetings, church groups and weddings.
It's not unusual, though, for someone out on a Sunday drive to stop by the location on state Route 87 and ask if they can pay admission to come to the park.
It's those folks that have sparked owner Wendy Wiegand, the third-generation owner, to do something that's only been done one time before.
The park will be open to the public on June 4-5. The theme, "Bring Back the Magic," is set to honor the golden days of Cleveland-area amusement parks.
The Euclid Beach Boys will be bringing memorabilia from the former Euclid Beach Park, Puritas Park, Myers Park, Chippewa Lake and Geauga Lake.
DJ Norm N. Nite, from Sirius Radio, will also spin tunes at the park's Jitterbug café during a sock-hop!
