WKYC Sports Anchor and Radio Voice of the Browns, Jim Donovan, is on a medical leave of absence to undergo a bone marrow transplant for treatment of leukemia. Below is a letter Jim wrote to thank all those who have sent him get well wishes. You can send a get well wish to firstname.lastname@example.org
I am writing you from the new Seidman Cancer Center at University Hospitals. What an amazing place. The transplant process is well underway and tomorrow is the big day-- it's TRANSPLANT DAY!
I have been undergoing a lot of chemotherapy for about a week and that was to get my current counts way down. That's been accomplished and now it's time for my donor cells to go into my body. That procedure will take place tomorrow morning (June 14).
All of your messages to me have been an incredible lift. I'm not from a big family, but after hearing from all of you, that's not true.
Thanks for taking me into your thoughts and prayers. It's been a huge positive push for me, Cheryl and Meghan. We sit and read what you all say and feel much better about the outcome of this thing -- coming out on the winning end.
The doctors and nurses here have been champs. They are fantastic! So, here we go, on to my "Super Bowl" tomorrow and hopefully back as soon as I can so we can be at our Super Bowl sometime soon.
I was born in Boston, but Cleveland is my home. And one more thing, way to go Dallas Mavs!
Have a great day and I'll be back as soon as I can.
