CLEVELAND -- The Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA) announced the grand opening of two major projects in the Cleveland area Friday -- a new administrative building, and the second phase of Heritage View Homes in the Kinsman neighborhood.

CMHA has always worked closely with the city of Cleveland and has committed itself to the improvement of communities.

The Heritage View Homes development project, which transformed the deteriorating Garden Valley Estates into a modern, thriving community, is just one product to come from the partnership.

"That commitment can be seen in the form of infrastructure investments, new employment opportunities and economic development projects," said Mayor Frank Jackson.

Mayor Jackson continued, mentioning that CMHA and its partners' efforts have helped "transform what was once of Cleveland's most distressed neighborhoods."

The second phase of the project adds 57 units to the 81 units that were erected during the first phase.

CMHA also brought a new home to its employees. The newly constructed administrative headquarters brings together 400 employees who previously worked in different departments and offices.

The new facility is expected to allow CMHA to provide more comprehensive, efficient service to the community.

CMHA's interim CEO, Jeffery Patterson added that the "new developments could not have happened without resident engagement."
