BATH TOWNSHIP -- You can only learn so much in a classroom. That's the attitude some University of Akron archaeology students took with them Tuesday as they headed to the woods.

About 10 students, led by Dr. Linda Whitman, are spending two weeks in the woods retrieving the skeletons of two pigs buried there two years ago.

The students must then return the skeletons to the labs for further testing, in hopes of determining a cause of death.

The exercise challenges the students to apply what they've learned in the classroom to the real world of forensic investigations.
