VALLEY VIEW --  Libraries, including the Cleveland Public library have offered eBooks for years.

With the popularity of eReaders rising, the demand at libraries has exploded. Cleveland Public Library is reporting a 90% increase in eBooks being checked out.

"Most of the time people have never heard of it. And so they are excited that they can browse, check out and download for free from their library, "says, David Burleigh, Marketing Director for OverDrive.

OverDrive is based in Valley View and sells eBooks to libraries.

They have a digital book mobile that goes around the country, educating avid readers about downloading library eBooks right onto an eReader or computer.

"You go to the library website, you browse, you check out with a valid library card just like you would a physical book, and you can download it to your computer. At the end of the lending period, the book just stops working. It expires," says Burleigh.

Gone are the days of late fees. All types of books are available, including what is on the New York Times best seller list.
