CLEVELAND -- Police tell Channel 3 that Matthew Fox was detained in The Flats Saturday night.

Fox tried to get on a private party bus run by The Ohio Connection for a ride back to his hotel. The bus driver, Heather Bormann, told Fox he was not allowed on the bus.

Fox didn't listen and tried to board the bus anyway. Bormann tells Channel 3 that she blocked the entrance and told Fox he could not get on the bus three times.

That's when Fox started to punch her in the chest and stomach area. Bormann then punched Fox in the mouth, causing a cut on his lip. She said she struck him in self-defense.

Witnesses tried to help break up the fight.

Bormann, 29, of Cleveland, may have broken her hand and will seek medical attention.

She tells Channel 3 that she is going to the Cleveland prosecutor's office to file charges against Fox.

Fox was released to a friend and taken to his hotel by taxi. He refused medical treatment.

Sources say Fox is in Cleveland for the filming Tyler Perry's movie "I, Alex Cross."

Fox has been on TV's "Lost" and "Party of Five" and the film "We are Marshall."
