It's another great day to save.
I want to start with Deal Chicken and then move on to one of the most-requested holiday gifts.
I'm starting to get questions from viewers about Deal Chicken. What is it? How do you sign up? Is it a Ways 2 Save?
All good questions.
First of all, Deal Chicken is a new daily deal site launched by Gannett, the same company that owns WKYC, kicking off in Northeast Ohio today.
You'll now have another avenue to access great local deals. Unlike a service like Groupon, which is located in some other part of the country, Deal Chicken Cleveland is handled right here in Northeast Ohio.
Of course, I'll put Deal Chicken through same ringer as any other website in my Ways 2 Save repertoire. It won't get any preferential treatment, as I hold it to the same standards as any other daily deal site, but I do expect there to be great local deals. This will simply be another site up my sleeve.

Now moving on... to an amazing deal on remote controlled helicopters!
My inbox is filling up with requests for these and there are two big deals on the market that really caught my attention.
The first is the highest-end of the R/C helicopter spectrum. Today, the Spy Ryder helicopter is $87, marked down by at least $100. It's difficult for me to gauge an MSRP that makes sense since these extremely durable helicopters come equipped with a built-in video camera and captures surprisingly impressive quality photos and video onto an SD card that's included.
It soars almost 100 feet into the sky in a matter of seconds and is highly durable, having sustained significant falls, tumbles and accidents. It comes equipped with spare propellers, parts and charges quickly.
This model requires 6 AA batteries for the remote control and is recommended for teens and adults. This is the best R/C helicopter I've used to date.

At the lower end/mid-range of the R/C helicopter spectrum, the highly-rated Syma Helicopter is reduced by 85% on Amazon, marked down from $130 to $20.
While I really enjoyed the spunk of this little helicopter, it's significantly smaller than the Spy Ryder and does not have the same flying time or speed of the Spryer. This is a palm-sized helicopter, while the Spy Ryder is a significantly larger item. This model also requires 6 AA batteries for the remote control.
