OLMSTED TOWNSHIP -- Police say a boy struck by a hit-skip driver in an SUV Monday night on Cook Road died late Tuesday at MetroHealth Medical Center.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed that they received the body of Charles Kho Jr., of Olmsted Township. Today was Kho's 13th birthday, according to records.
Earlier today police got new information from Ganley Body Shop in Middleburgh Heights. They say a person was looking for body work on their damage car.
Ganley was aware of the hit/skip and called police.
Investigators were able to identify several pieces of evidence that were recovered from the scene to the damage vehicle and seized the automobile.
Police are attempting to locate this person.
Police say at about 7 p.m., police and EMS were called to the area of 27216 Cook Road.
Police say Kho was hit while walking along the road.
Kho was taken by LifeFlight to MetroHealth Medical Center where he was originally listed in critical condition.
Police are looking for a dark-colored SUV, possibly a GMC Envoy, and a woman driver with brown hair.
The SUV was last seen heading westbound on Cook Road at a high rate of speed. The SUV may possibly have damage to the right front end, police said.
