CLEVELAND -- A former city council member in Cleveland has pleaded guilty to taking a $2,000 bribe and soliciting a job for her son in return for steering a developer's project.

Scott is cooperating in the three-year federal investigation which has focused on county government in Cleveland. Prosecutors have implicated more than 50 elected officials, county workers and contractors and most have pleaded guilty.
According to The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer, her attorney says Scott used the bribe money to pay her daughter's tuition at a private high school.
