RICHMOND HEIGHTS -- Late Monday, the Richmond Heights school board named an interim superintendent after placing superintendent Dr. Linda T. Hardwick on paid leave.
They named elementary school principal Dr. Robert Moore as interim superintendent.
In a statement, the board said:
"Dr. Linda T. Hardwick was relieved of her duties with pay on November 3, 2011 during a special meeting of the Board of Education. Dr. Hardwick was put on paid leave while the district investigates allegations of misappropriation of district property. As with any employee of the district Dr. Linda T. Hardwick is entitled to a fair investigation."
"She has privacy rights and due process rights that are not to be violated. Therefore, the Board of Education will refrain from making any further statements until the investigation is complete. Dr. Robert Moore will serve as Interim Superintendent during the investigation."
" Dr. Robert Moore is the Elementary School principal and has been in charge of the district when Dr. Linda Hardwick took leave from the district. The Board of Education remains committed to educating all children of the Richmond Heights Community."
