BRADY TOWNSHIP -- The Ohio State Highway Patrol says three people from Portage County died in an accident about 3 p.m. Monday on the Ohio Turnpike near Toledo.
Troopers say that an eastbound car crossed the median into the westbound lanes, and was struck by a westbound truck driven by a Wisconsin man.
Troopers say it is unknown if weather conditions contributed to the accident.
The car's driver, Andrew Knapik Jr., 64, of Hiram, died at the scene. His two passengers, Barbara Knapik, 64, of Hiram, and Carol Knapik, 68, of Aurora, also died at the scene.
Troopers say all three were wearing seatbelts.
The truck driver, Brian Snodgrass, 53, of Viroqua, Wisc. was not hurt.
